Bring Kids Voting To Your School, Youth Group, or Organization in 5 Easy Steps!

 Kids Voting Durham makes it easy for you to bring the current election to your students and give them an authentic voting experience where they choose between the same candidates as adults. Kids Voting provides everything you need including:

  •       KVD ballots (choice of paper and/or online)

  •       I Voted stickers

  •       KVD Election Guide created by youth for youth

  •       Cardboard voting booths & ballot boxes (optional

  •       Training for the individuals who will run your site. 

  •       KVD lessons & activities on elections & voting leveled by grade

  •       Customizable promotional materials including bilingual parent

All you need to do is. . .

  1. Sign Up for the Current Election.

Contact us by email or at 919.560.7321 or simply use this form to let us know what school or organization you are with, the name of a contact person and their email, and how many youth you expect to vote. We’ll follow up with more information on how to get started for the upcoming election!

2. Make an Election Plan

 You choose:

WHEN

Elections an be held any days or times during Early Voting (usually 2-3 weeks before Election Day) or on Election Day

HOW

Elections can be run by educators, older students, PTAs, student organizations or anyone with the time & enthusiasm

WHERE

Elections can be held in a media center, classroom, or even assigned as outside

WHO

Your entire school can vote or just one grade-level, class, or club

 3. Prepare to Vote

You choose the day(s) and times with the Early Voting period or on Election Day that work for you and your students! Kids Voting will have all election supplies delivered to you before your election date.

You can do as little or as much as you want to prepare your students for elections – from teaching about the office to be elected and issues in the election using KVD’s Youth Election Guide, to holding get-out-the-vote campaigns and other activities.

 5. Share Results

You can access your individual school results and the overall Durham Kids Voting results, as well as a summary of adult election results, the morning after Election Day. Kids Voting’s materials will include some after-election discussion questions and activities for your class.
